Understanding the different parts of the horse’s body is an important skill for riders of all levels. It allows us to communicate about our horses properly, improves our riding abilities, helps identify lameness and injury in our horses, and can even help keep us safe when we are interacting with our four-legged friends!
To help learn about horses and their bodies, we have two videos from JHTR Instructor Christi – one is a fun version of the classic song “Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes” and the other is a more detailed video about the Horse Body Parts. You can also test your knowledge with a beginner and advanced horse anatomy worksheet.
We hope you all enjoy the end of winter! We will be in touch very soon about the details for our 2022 Season!
