As a kid, Colleen enjoyed horseback riding and ballet. After a few unplanned dismounts from her horse, ballet seemed like the safer option. Following her ballet career and a short detour as a Delta Flight Attendant, she attended college and became a Registered Dietitian. She practiced in a rehab hospital, a children’s hospital and later consulted for a children’s clinic working alongside occupational and physical therapists as part of a “Feeding Team” treating young children, many with special needs.
Colleen and her family moved to Jackson in 2016. When she learned about the therapeutic riding program, it seemed like the perfect fit. She started volunteering with JHTR in 2018 and was hooked! Colleen was asked to join the Board in 2020, which was a huge honor considering how impressed she was with the entire organization.
Colleen’s husband, John, is an ER physician in Cody and Riverton and an avid skier and climber. She has two sons. Jack, is a Lieutenant in the Marine Corps stationed in Okinawa. Aidan is a mechanical engineer working in Bozeman, MT. Colleen also enjoys expending her “empty nester” energy on Pilates, ballet, Nordic skiing, and dog agility classes with her Border Collie, Sully.
